United States, Ut... Preferred Partner "Executive Summary: Distribution-Services is a new business. We are a product distribution business focusing on supporting internet retailers. We will stock products (belonging to the e-retailer or Distribution-Services) for e-retailers in distribution centers positioned close to major metropolitan areas, so consumers can pick up the products at our facilities, or have them delivered to their home or business the same day. We also offer the following services: product distribution, inventory management, order payment processing, same day delivery, returns processing, regional shipping, gift wrapping services, telephone order support and product setup. Our goal is to open medium size distribution centers across the country starting with the largest metropolitan areas. Stocking products for sale by multiple e-retailers will dramatically reduce the cost to the internet retailers by sharing the cost of overhead, and paying only for the services and products that they use. This business plan is to secure the required investors, or venture capital, for start up expenses and initial operating expenses. Through developing new customers, strategic location, years of distribution systems experience we intend to lead the industry in providing internet retailers with direct consumer products and support services. We expect by leasing our warehouse storage space, and or selling our products and services, to hit break even by the end of our 1st year. And by the ending of our 2nd year we expect to be generating a 12 percent after tax profit on sales from our locations, which will then help support the opening of new distribution centers nationwide. We expect to double the number of distribution centers every year for the first 4 - 5 years. At present we have been able to find only one other company offing nearly the same services to support the internet retailers. The need for this business has been documented by the USA Today, October 5, 1999. And again on Oct 12, 1999. In these and many more articles they stress that without the ability to deliver products more quickly, and provide local support for returns and service, the ""Brick and Mortar"" stores will continue to take the larger market share from the internet retailers of today. The business we are proposing will address these problems and solve them. Leaving the internet retailers with the ability to compete on a local market level, without the overhead of a store and sales staff. Thereby keeping a cost edge over over the conventional store. Marketing: We plan to implement the following marketing strategies. 1. Advertising Our plan is to contact trade publications and newspapers to get a feature article run. This will help the general public become familiar with us and help generate sales, and new customers. 2. Public Relations Joining associations targeting the internet retailers, businesses, and the areas Chamber of Commerce will also help us gain recognition in the local areas and industry. 3. Seminars and Trade Shows We will attend and participate to reach new potential customers. 4. Direct Contact Our main thrust will be to contact the potential customer directly. W...
