Preferred Partner "Vecquid Group is a prospective interactive firm that seeks to expand the limits of advertising and design on the Internet to reintroduce conceptual thinking into technological execution. We intend to provide the solution for a present day web that is growing so fast that it has forgotten why it generated so much interest in the first place. The web was built on the exchange of new ideas. Unfortunately, most advertising, design or creative firms either arenít capable of turning their successful print or TV campaigns into interactive, or simply do not have the time or know-how to execute in the new medium. They are afraid of a business they donít understand and are worried that interactive will both cut their billing fees and sap the creative strength of their currently successful work. Consequently, web advertising is ineffective and boring, and banner ads are rarely clicked on. Yet the potential is still there. Almost all of todayís major technology companies are worth millions based solely on the profits generated from ad dollars. Web advertising canít disappear. But if advertisers stop seeing a benefit from their money they will divert it elsewhere, causing the technological infrastructure to collapse. The only viable solution is for web sites, interactive ads and technological design to morph into something closer to entertainment. As a wider subsection of the populace learns to log on, they will want information worth watching; that is less a distraction and more a pleasure. They wonít want banner ads. Theyíll want interactive commercials in which they can participate. In other words, when the capabilities of the Internet are expanded, interactive design should expand the boundaries of not only advertising, but also TV and related mediums as well. Enter Vecquid. We seek to present a combination of technology and art that is not only possible but also inevitable. As we mentioned earlier, the worlds of art and Internet business are based solely on the transfer of ideas. On one side we have the Internet; an uncharted territory of universal ideas put to accessible use. Meanwhile, the pleasure of any art form is the universality of an idea presented in a form anyone can enjoy. Whoever can successfully combine these two similar realms will create a form twice as powerful. The resulting dynamic will be revolutionarily explosive and the potential for solving traditional client problems will be limitless. For the Internet to keep the fundersí interest, you have to watch their message. To keep the viewer interest, the message has to be interesting to watch. Advertisers finally have the opportunity to receive instant feedback from the public from the Internet. Our solutions will be newer and more direct than ever possible in the worlds of TV, Radio and Print. Furthermore, this territory is undefined and uncharted. Weíd like to be the ones to define and chart it. We believe in delivering our information by the artistic means defined, we can inject art into the technological mix in a way that will satisfy clients while helping the artistic communities. We will be enhancing a rare execution medium that allows artists to support themselves on their creativity and allow them to have their work more easily seen. Companies like ours will possess the knowledge to execute anything technically, but will really be more of a think tank focusing on design infrastructure and artistic possibility. We aim to end the disparity in todayís business/creative world where business people make all the money for selling the work of the true producers. Our firm shall be more give, and less take. Corporate rates are not yet set and lawyer and agent fees are not yet established, so firms like ours can set a positive precedent for artists on the Internet and give them a much greater percentage of the profits. All of us are either artists in the Atlanta community or graduating students at the renowned advertising school The Portfolio Center. We have all had to work in places that donít appreciate the arts. By freelancing in these kinds of places, weíve seen how easy it would be to better use the talents of the artistic communities without straying from the purpose at hand: strategically solving client needs. With new software technologies, movie quality programming is accessible to the well-trained fingers of computer lovers around the globe. We are those computer lovers. As soon as the broadband capabilities speed up Americaís modems, we are fully capable of producing spots on todayís technology. We are design-educated students, writers and community artists who are knowledgeable in an array of artistic fields. Our target audience is year 2000 Corporate America. Factual information documents that the average age of corporate heads is plummeting. Combine this statistic with the accepted understanding that the Internet is a younger manís medium and the business opportunities for us are tremendous. Todayís CEOs have two things that operate in our favor; 1) they like exciting, groundbreaking ideas and resent Old World stodginess, and 2) it is imperative that they stay current. A company like ours that is knowledgeable in the current trends will have all the new business they can handle, as well as repeat business from companies wanting their sites updated. Itís a goldmine. As we said, corporate referrals are the lifeblood of site and advertising design. By staying true to the strong conceptual strategy, companies will know we wonít ignore their product benefits for doing something irrelevant to their goods but fun to look at. We will also expect referrals from traditional advertising and design companies who outsource their work. This is a medium many are afraid of and still donít really understand. We also expect to receive referral business from the artistic community, who will recognize us as a company dedicated to good work that incorporates art. We know all such referrals are available to us. Vecquid Group has currently been turning down anything other than one site at a time freelance work because we canít hire the manpower or buy the computers. We know the clients are there. Weíve been told already. Our marketing strategy is simple: We can do print, TV, and Radio well. And we can do interactive better. Clients will come to see a rare breed of company that can successfully think in both creative and business/technology ways. Once we do Internet business for a company we will require them to provide a link to our site. This is the future of self-promotion. We are aware that continued PR is necessary because few companies have established a distinct reputation in interactive media and technology changes quickly. We have to stay on the tip of tongues because once again, word of mouth is the most powerful marketing tool there is in the current interactive workplace. Once a corporation finds someone they trust, they stick with them rather than re-enter the abyss of sub-par performers and multimedia con men. Which leads into the next issue. The startup costs would be approximately $40,000 for Hardware, Software, and Peripherals capable of supporting large f...
