United States, Vi... "Overview UnitedPoint.Com, Inc. is an Internet retailer offering same day delivery of specialty goods and services for Ethnic Communities in the United States. UnitedPoint.Com, Inc. will be the only place for all things specialty and ethnic. It is the vision to create a single place for all customers to buy top quality goods at a low price in a hassle-free, friendly, fast and highly secure environment. The founders envision this web site to be the biggest searchable database for community specific goods on the World Wide Web (Internet). In addition, the web site will be the biggest provider of ethnic goods and services to its members and non-members alike. Following the launch of the first site, for Asian Indian goods (http://indiapoint.com), UnitedPoint.com, Inc. plans to launch services for other major communities that include, but is not limited to, Latino, Arab, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Thai and Vietnamese cultures Opportunity Many non-American communities in the Unites States have difficulty obtaining the goods and service that are readily available in their homelands. Many local markets are small, their selection is limited and in many parts of the country where ethnic groups reside, there are no markets catering to their cultural tastes. UnitedPoint.Com, Inc. seeks to fill this void by providing easy access via the Internet to the goods and service these people cannot find in their immediate neighborhoods. The products that will be sold will be specialty and hard-to-find ethnic items in the local markets. Methodology UnitedPoint.Com, Inc. will display its catalog of products on its web site. Customers can navigate to different categories and can make purchases easily with their credit cards in a highly secure website with no employee intervention. Sophisticated searching capability is provided so that customers can quickly search for any products that they want to buy. UnitedPoint.Com, Inc. constantly updates information and prices on its products according to the fluctuations in the market. UnitedPoint.Com, Inc. also plans to extend value-added services like community event listings, personalized web based video chat, community discussion groups etc. to its customers through its website catering to the community that the company is serving. The entire web site is database-driven and is designed so that content on the website will tie directly into products and services being sold on the website. Company Structure Development Plans UnitedPoint.Com, Inc. will be built in phases. Proof of concept will take place in Phase 1 for IndiaPoint.Com. Phase 2 involves large-scale rollout of a distribution center and of an advertising blitz to get IndiaPoint.Com fully off the ground. Upon the success and stability of IndiaPoint.Com, the process will be repeated in Phase 3 with the rollout of each new culture’s site such as LatinoPoint.Com, OrientalPoint.Com, AfricaPoint.Com & JewishPoint.Com Phase I – Proof of Concept Phase I is currently implemented & fully operational. UnitedPoint.Com, Inc. has launched its fully functional and robust e-commerce web portal for the Indian Community at http://indiapoint.com and is currently taking and fulfilling orders. Presently, there are 800 visitors to the web site everyday and this number will increase as more of IndiaPoint.Com ads start appearing all over the country in the Indian community media. In Phase I, IndiaPoint.Com will not maintain any inventory; rather it will display the products for sale on its web site. Customers place orders on http://indiapoint.com web site. Such orders will be captured, stored and tracked in sophisticated proprietary database application software. When an order comes in, purchase orders are automatically generated and sent to local suppliers who prepare their part of the order. A courier service picks up all of the orders from suppliers and brings it back to the IndiaPoint.Com, Inc. Packing Center where customer orders are assembled and shipped. In this phase, the prices of the goods displayed on the web site will be marked up (typically 10 to 15%) from the cost price . IndiaPoint.Com has entered into several strategic relationships with suppliers within the United States to fill its orders. The company has been very careful in picking its suppliers. We are teaming with the best and well-stocked suppliers who have physical inventories so that we can provide our customers the best service. Phase II – Full Scale Expansion In Phase II, IndiaPoint.Com plans to expand its product line and increase its margins substantially by sourcing product from wholesalers. In addition, for product categories that no major wholesaler exists, IndiaPoint.Com will import some of the products themselves. This phase of the model will require the holding of inventory and operation of a distribution center. Phase III – Multi-Culture Rollout Upon successful expansion of IndiaPoint.Com to a full-scale distributor/retailer of Indian good and services, other websites selling the goods and services of other cultures will be introduced using a cookie cutter approach.
